Welcome to Bel Air
Bel Air-Holmby Hills. The name itself seems to speak of a certain magic a place with beautiful air, an aerie. Indeed, this community full of luxury homes and mansions for sale is known for attracting rarefied inhabitants like Jennifer Aniston and Elizabeth Taylor who come for the priceless privacy and stay for the town and country lifestyle. It also, of course, is known for the world-class Bel Air Hotel and for boasting things like bougainvillea-lined (and scented!) streets. But what is it like to actually live in this neighborhood full of top luxury homes in Los Angeles? As a homeowner myself in Bel Air for the past decade, I outline what it has to offer in basic terms at first for clients, including lots of space (Bel Air is one of the least densely populated neighborhoods in the city), great views of L.A. and the valley from villa-like homes featuring crisp tennis courts and pristine pools, as well as nearby highly rated public and elite private schools.
As an experienced real estate agent, I also make it a point to take clients beyond the surface and into the “true” nature of a neighborhood. Locals appreciate what they term the “Bel Air light” (“You feel like you’re in the south of France!” is a familiar refrain in these parts). Bel Air enjoys a temperate micro-climate which benefits from ocean breezes via Santa Monica as well as the mountain elevation. Some property-centric surprises of Bel Air include The Moraga Vineyard, residential gated communities as well as less-publicized single story homes in the canyons perfect for empty nesters or bachelors and bachelorettes! In short, Bel Air has many offerings and can almost be whatever you want it to be. I’m honored to help clients find the home of their heart’s desires in which to experience all that Bel Air is.
